Outstations gather data from various
sensors, which are connected either by cable or remotely. This data can then be transmitted or polled at intervals from bureau systems or
instations. There are 3 types of Outstation currently available. Icelert MK6 has Forecast Outstation Capability. It will host up to
4 surface sensors - ideal for areas such as grade separated junctions. Sensors can be up to 200m from outstation. There is no limit on the
number of other sensors that can be added to Icelert MK6. Icelert 2000 also has Forecast Outstation Capability. It will host up to 2
surface sensors - ideal for situations where additional sensors are not required resulting in a significant cost saving. ThermoCheck
has been introduced as a Low Cost Outstation. It provides basic surface and air temperature measurement only and is ideal for filling in
network gaps such as frost hollows and bridge decks. Expanding a network is no longer prohibited by the high costs associated with some
manufacturers' outstations. Findlay Irvine have designed their range of Outstations to be compatible with other manufacturers'
Bureaus and Instations - giving clients flexibility and freedom of choice.
