Data supplied
by sensors and viewed on Icelert.net plays a valuable role in the decision making process. As technology has developed and the need for more
data increased, Highway Maintaining Authorities have expanded Road Weather Information Systems to include cameras. These cameras can be used
to monitor actual weather/traffic conditions and act as a deterrent for vandals. Findlay Irvine have in the past resisted the
temptation to introduce cameras to the marketplace due to the limitations of the available technology and a feeling that the systems that
existed in the marketplace at the time were not really providing true value for money. However, following considerable research and
development Findlay Irvine now offers a range of cameras suited to various applications and client requirements. Images from the
cameras can be viewed alongside other information on icelert.net. Users decide how often an image is captured and an ability to call an
image on-demand has also been built in giving icelert.net users complete peace of mind. As with other information on camera images are
archived and can be called up at any time - AT NO EXTRA COST A range of power and communication options are available. Findlay
Irvine uses an open protocol - giving clients freedom of choice and enabling our cameras to be used with other manufacturers' systems.
Maintenance can be undertaken by Findlay Irvine or clients are free to use an Accredited Maintenance Contractor or maintain the equipment
themselves. Clients are not financially penalised if they do not choose to have their hardware maintained by Findlay Irvine.
Cameras can be mounted anywhere - even away from outstations. G3/GPRS/GSM links ensure data is transmitted on time, every
time.
